The Xiaomi 12 series now comprise three smartphones, but we know the business won’t stop there. The Xiaomi 12 Lite model, a successor to the Xiaomi 11 Lite (formerly Mi 11 Lite), has already been in the news and is now being shown in leaked photographs. These photos suggest a different design from the existing Xiaomi 12 phones. Here’s a basic overview.
This Is Possibly the Xiaomi 12 Lite
A slew of real-life hands-on photographs has appeared on Weibo, purportedly of the Xiaomi 12 Lite. The smartphone has the model number “2203129G.”
According to the photos, the Xiaomi 12 Lite has a flat-edge design that the other Xiaomi 12-series devices do not have. The rectangular back camera hump remains, but the Lite edition opts for larger camera housings to stick out a little more. From the looks of it, the phone will have a lightweight design, similar to its predecessor.

A punch-hole screen with a central location will also be incorporated. The leaked picture also has an eerie similarity to iOS, due to iOS-like widgets, app layouts, and other features. I mistook it for an iPhone for a moment! Examine it out and let us know what you think.
The Xiaomi 12 Lite is shown in a matte black colour and appears to be made of plastic. We anticipate that more colour options will be available once the smartphone is officially released. There’s also a screenshot of a Geekbench listing with a single-core score of 788 and a multi-core score of 2,864.
The Spec Sheet for the Xiaomi 12 Lite has been leaked.
We may not have official information, but there are certain rumours to consider. According to a recent leak, the Xiaomi 12 Lite, like the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, would be powered by a Snapdragon 778G. It will most likely have the same 6.55-inch AMOLED display but with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Three back cameras are reportedly rumored, including a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. However, OIS support will be provided this time. On the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE, a 16MP selfie camera is anticipated to replace the 20MP front camera. A larger 4,500mAh battery with quicker 67W fast charging, Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top, and more are among the upgrades.
However, it’s worth mentioning that the above specifics are just that: rumours, and we’ll have to wait for more definitive information. Stay tuned because we’ll let you know as soon as it happens.
