Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor Phillips in GTA 5, has had an unexpected change of heart about Rockstar’s next blockbuster. After brushing aside GTA 6 at a fan convention in September 2025, Ogg now wants to stream the game at launch. His newfound enthusiasm stems from finally playing GTA 5 alongside Ned Luke, the actor who brought Michael De Santa to life.
Luke has been working through the entire GTA 5 campaign on his YouTube channel, with Ogg joining him as a regular guest. During their latest upload, titled “The Final Mission: Episode 11,” Ogg revealed that Luke was the person who got him interested in gaming. The experience has now sparked an idea to carry their on-screen adventures into Rockstar’s upcoming release.
“I think, Ned, we should also do this with the new one, when GTA 6 comes out, because, obviously, it’s going to be so f***king different. It’d be fun,” Ogg remarked during the video.
Luke was already on board. He confirmed that streaming GTA 6 together was part of his plans once their GTA 5 playthrough reaches its conclusion.
The shift marks a notable change in Ogg’s outlook. In September 2025, he admitted Rockstar’s next installment did little for him because he was never much of a gamer. He had also spoken about his frustration with fans constantly identifying him as Trevor Phillips. Although he never despised the character, the relentless association had clearly worn on him over the years. Now, he appears far more comfortable embracing the role that made him a household name among GTA fans.
Ogg’s curiosity has also moved beyond his own character. He wants to see how Rockstar has developed its new cast and reshaped the gameplay after more than a decade of GTA 5.
“I’m just curious about the actors in GTA 6 and the game itself. Those characters versus this [GTA 5], which, obviously, I learn more and more about over the last 12 years,” Ogg added.
He is particularly keen to discover how GTA 6 handles its missions and whether the experience feels markedly different from the adventures that defined its predecessor. For someone who spent years being recognized for playing Trevor, getting a closer look at Rockstar’s latest creation could offer a fresh perspective on the series.

Should Ogg and Luke follow through with their streaming plans, viewers could be in for an exceptionally long gaming session. Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson has reportedly indicated that a single GTA6 playthrough could stretch beyond 80 hours, giving the pair plenty of material to work through.
Another question fans may be wondering about: Could Steven Ogg or Ned Luke have a role in GTA 6 itself? Ogg might simply be enjoying the speculation, although his involvement remains unconfirmed. Luke, meanwhile, flashed a knowing smile when Ogg asked whether he was still in contact with Rockstar. That reaction is hardly proof of anything, but it has left fans wondering whether the two actors know more than they are letting on.
