iPhone 14 Selfie Camera Features: While we wait for Apple’s iPhone 14 series to be released later this year, we can’t help but notice the numerous rumours and leaks. In addition to the present ones, recent evidence reveals that the forthcoming iPhone 14 models may include enhanced selfie cameras, however, this may be costly.
Because of its front-facing selfie camera, the iPhone 14 may be more expensive.
According to a recent claim by Korea’s ET News, Apple has dropped the Chinese manufacturers that built the front cameras for its iPhones owing to quality difficulties with the camera components. The business has now picked LG Innotek and Sharp of Japan to supply the front cameras for its next iPhone 14 series.
The new selfie camera from LG Innotek and Sharp is expected to be costly, maybe costing three times what Apple now offers. This might be owing to the inclusion of high-end features such as auto-focus, which could be part of the iPhone 14’s front camera. As a result, the iPhone 14 may also be pricey.
For those who are unaware, LG Innotek was previously slated to supply Apple with front camera components for the iPhone 15 in 2023, but this is now likely to happen this year.
Apart from auto-focus, the iPhone 14 series’ front cameras are expected to have a smaller aperture to produce high-quality selfies. According to a recent claim by prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, all of the future iPhone 14 models would include auto-focus selfie cams with an f/1.9 aperture.
For comparison, the current iPhone 13 line’s selfie cameras have fixed-focus lenses with an aperture of f/2.2. As a result of the reduced aperture, the iPhone 14 front cameras will be able to allow in more light while also automatically focusing on subjects in a scene. Furthermore, the upgraded selfie shooters might increase the depth-of-field effect in Portrait selfies. They would also be able to increase the quality of video conversations on platforms such as FaceTime, Zoom, and others.
Aside from that, the iPhone 14 series is rumoured to include a redesigned “hole + pill” cutout, rather than the iconic notch, to house the enhanced selfie cameras. The iPhones of 2022 are also expected to include a 48-megapixel primary back camera, additional RAM, and 120Hz ProMotion screens. A September release is predicted, but because these are merely rumours at this point, it’s better to wait and see what happens. So keep tuned to TechFoogle for all the latest information on the impending iPhone 14 series.
