OnePlus 15 Launch Set for October 27: Everything We Know So Far

The next big flagship from OnePlus is almost here. The OnePlus 15 is officially scheduled to launch in China on October 27, serving as the successor to last year’s OnePlus 13. The smartphone was recently showcased during the Snapdragon Summit Global Highlights event in India, confirming that an Indian launch is also on the horizon.

OnePlus 15 Launch Details and Expected Price in India

OnePlus has confirmed the China launch date for October 27, but the India launch date is still under wraps. However, reports suggest that the phone could make its Indian debut sometime next month.

As for pricing, the OnePlus 15 price in India is expected to start between ₹70,000 and ₹75,000, putting it in direct competition with flagship models from Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi.

OnePlus 15 Display and Design

OnePlus has revealed that the device will feature a third-generation BOE Flexible Oriental OLED display. This screen will offer 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals for gaming and daily use.

The company claims that this new display delivers 13% better brightness, 11.8% improved color accuracy, and up to 30% longer lifespan compared to the OnePlus 13. It will also be 10% more power-efficient.

The bezels will be extremely thin, measuring only 1.15 mm, and the display will support True Hardware 1-nit Dark Night mode, making it easier on the eyes in low light. The phone will also feature Oppo’s new P3 display chip, offering faster pixel response times and improved performance.

Design-wise, the OnePlus 15 will sport a square-shaped camera module on the back and will reportedly come in Absolute Black, Mist Purple, and Original Sand Dune color options. It’s also expected to have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

OnePlus 15 Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which is designed for top-tier speed and efficiency.

Powering the device will be a 7,000mAh battery, one of the largest ever in a OnePlus flagship. It will support 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, ensuring users spend less time plugged in.

In China, the phone will ship with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, while global versions, including India, will come with OxygenOS 16, also based on Android 16.

OnePlus 15 Camera Setup

Photography enthusiasts can expect a serious upgrade. According to leaks, the OnePlus 15 will feature a triple-camera setup, led by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 85mm focal length, f/2.8 aperture, and 3x optical zoom. The setup will likely include two additional 50MP sensors for primary and ultra-wide shots.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has also confirmed that the company is developing a new DetailMax Engine, an in-house image processing system aimed at improving clarity and detail. Although it’s still in early testing, Lau mentioned that initial results are “promising” and that the feature should be ready by the time the OnePlus 15 officially ships.

Final Thoughts

With a massive battery, next-gen Snapdragon chip, upgraded display, and powerful camera setup, the OnePlus 15 looks ready to make a strong impact in the flagship smartphone market. The company’s focus on performance and design refinement suggests this could be one of the most impressive OnePlus devices yet.

As we approach the October 27 launch, more details about the OnePlus 15’s global availability and pricing are expected to surface soon.
