Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo’s European pricing shows a not-so-budget version of Note 3

Last week, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 Neo phablets. However, there was no word on the pricing and availability. Now, a German online retailer‘s listing has seemingly revealed the pricing, according to GSMArena. The Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Neo LTE+ are listed at 529 euros which translates to approximately Rs 44,700, while the Neo 3G is priced at 499 euros that is approximately Rs 42,100.

The site doesn’t mention any information about the availability of these phones. It should be noted that the Note 3 Neo is touted to be a budget version of the Galaxy Note 3. However, the price tag doesn’t really seem to bridge the gap between the price of the two phones. In India, the Note 3 is selling for upwards of Rs 40,000 and it looks like the Note 3 Neo will be priced around the same mark. While the company has stripped down some features of the Note 3 in the Neo versions, they still have SPen functionality.

Both versions of the Note 3 Neo sport a 5.5-inch display, compared to the 5.7-inch screen fitted on the Note 3. Note 3 Neo as well as Neo LTE+ pack in 16GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot. Samsung has given the premium 13MP camera and 4k recording a miss, as the Neos are fitted with an 8MP BSI sensor and a 2MP front-facing snapper. These devices run on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean and also get a layer of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

The differentiating factor is the chipset used in these devices. The Neo LTE+ model is powered by a hexa-core chipset with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores, while the Note 3 Neo is an HSPA+ version with a more traditional 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS/GLONASS and also an IR blaster (available depending on the region). All of this will be fuelled by a 3100mAh battery.
