The app reached all-time popularity among iOS users soon after it was launched. It provides an Instagram-isqe interface where you click a picture and are provided with various filters to apply. These filters are based on the popular art paintings are intricate patterns with no alternative app providing the filters. There are total 26 filters available in the Android app at the time of writing. One important thing to note is the app only works on a data connection and refuses to work otherwise.

After applying the filter the app gives options to either post it on Instagram or Facebook with share option to share the image with other apps. The settings of the app give you an option to automatically save the photos applied with filters. There are additional options to save the original image and adding or removing the Prisma watermark to the final images.
