Lenovo announced that it will start rolling out Android Nougat 7.0 along with Daydream compatibility to Moto Z and Moto Z force this week. This announcement comes after the company announced last month that many of its smartphones will receive Android Nougat before the end of this year.
In the blog post on ‘The official Motorola Blog’ the company detailed that Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be the first smartphones in the market apart from Google Pixel to be certified as Google Daydream-ready.
Google Daydream is the high-quality mobile VR platform developed by Google. According to the company, to get started with Google Daydream, on needs Google Daydream View which is available as a separate purchase.
There are no changelogs provided to the changes coming with Android Nougat 7.0 on the official blog or the updates but we can expect usual things like “Moto Glance” and other things. There was no additional information regarding updates to other Moto devices like Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus at the time of writing. One thing to note is the fact that this gives a hint that even Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is capable of providing Google Daydream experience rather than the mandatory Qualcomm Snapdragon 821.
