LG to unveil four new budget Android Lollipop smartphones at MWC

After making an announcement to launch the LG Watch Urbane at MWC this year, LG will now also unveil a new range of budget smartphones at the upcoming event which will take place early next month. The devices are better known as LG Magma, LG Spirit, LG Leon and LG Joy and will all run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The LG Magna features a 5-inch HD (294 ppi) display along with a 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz quad-core chipset depending on the country. It is equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. It is paired with 1GB RAM and has 8GB of internal storage. It is powered with a 2,540mAh removable battery and it’s dimensions are of 139.7 x 69.9 x 10.2mm.

The LG Spirit sports a 4.7-inch HD (312 ppi) display. It has same 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz quad-core chipset equipped with 1GB RAM which has been spotted on the LG Magna. This smartphone comes with 8MP or 5MP rear cameras. It is packed with a 2,100mAh battery and measures 133.3 x 66.1 x 9.9mm.

The LG Leon has 4.5-inch FWVGA (220 ppi) display. Its chipset and storage capacities are the same as LG Magna and LG Spirit. It comes equipped with an 8MP or 5MP rear camera depending upon the market and also has a VGA front camera. It is powered with a 1,900mAh battery and has dimensions of 129.9 x 64.9 x 10.9mm.

The LG Joy, the smallest of the group, has a 4-inch WVGA (233 ppi) display and comes powered with a 1.2GHz quad-core or 1.2GHz dual-core which again, depends upon the market. It comes with an 8GB or 4GB internal storage along with a 1GB or 512MB RAM. It sports a 5MP main camera and VGA front camera. It is packed with a 1,900mAh battery and measures 122.7 x 64.0 x 11.9mm.

All the four devices above will be packed with  LG’s popular user experience features which includes Gesture Shot, that allows users to take selfies with hand-gestures. It also has Glance View, which made its debut on the G Flex 2. It allows users to quickly access key information such as time, recent messages or missed calls with a downward swipe of the screen even while the display is off.
LG’s new mid-range collection will begin its global roll out this week in select markets. The company hasn’t disclosed the pricing nor availability of these devices.
