Lenovo is the latest company to have joined the club of companies launching health-related devices with its first ever fitness band. The Chinese PC giant has decided to call its fitness band: the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100.

There hasn’t been any formal launch for this product but instead Lenovo released a small product page on their website. The product page reads, “The Lenovo Smartband is for young people who take care of their personal health and are interested in new tech trend products. It allows you to track daily exercise, sleep and heart rate, customise notifications to improve both work and life efficiency and automatically log in on a PC without entering a password.”

This smartband tends to offer most features that we have seen in smartbands in the past such as the Sony Smartband SWR10 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit. Unlike the Sony Smartband, the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 will come with a small display.

The Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 allows users to track fitness using a companion app. It will measure steps, distance covered, calories burnt, heart rate and can show it in a daily/weekly/monthly data graph on the app. It supports sleep tracking. The device can be linked to a mobile phone and it will show missed calls, text messages and calendar appointments. The band comes with a tiny display which shows time by default.

There is, however, a neat little feature that will automatically unlock your PC when you bring the device near it.

Looking at the web page, it looks like the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 will come in orange and blue colour variants. It is expected to run with Android (4.3 and up) devices as well as iPhones/iPads running iOS 7.1 and up. Pricing and availability details of the Lenovo Smartband SW-B100 are not yet out.
