Now that WhatsApp has released a new version of its Windows app, which includes performance improvements and a focus on convenient calling, it is improving the messaging (and even calling) experience on Windows PCs. Here’s what users can expect from the new Windows client.
The new WhatsApp Windows app has been Released
You can now make group video and audio calls with WhatsApp for Windows. You can add up to eight people for video calls, and audio calls, and up to 32 others.
WhatsApp has launched a new desktop app for Windows that allows users to make E2E encrypted video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people, according to Mark Zuckerberg in a statement.
This limit will be increased so that staying in touch with your friends and family will be as easy as through your smartphone. Still, WhatsApp lets you add up to 32 people to a group video or audio call.
Additionally, WhatsApp’s multi-device capabilities have been improved. You can now use one account on multiple devices (secondary phones are not included at the moment), and you’ll be able to get messages even when your smartphone is offline.
The latest version of WhatsApp for Windows features a streamlined design and loads content significantly quicker than its predecessor. It adds to the convenience already offered. Like its mobile counterparts, WhatsApp’s new Windows version has end-to-end encryption.
Adding these new features is part of WhatsApp’s effort to improve platform user experiences. It comes after the Meta-owned messaging platform launched the native Windows app last year. It’s even in the beta testing phase for Android tablets and macOS applications. Download WhatsApp for Windows here, and let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
