Great Online Shopping Festival: Five tech deals you cannot miss

Google’s Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) will be a 3-day online shopping festival from the 10th to 12th December. It will have around 450 companies participating in it which is twice the number from last year. The shopping categories includes
everything from Baby & Kids to Books & Magazines to Jewellery to Electronics to Travel. There are two new sections in the GOSF 2014 namely ‘Exclusive Launch Corner,’ which will have new launches being sold exclusively via GOSF and the other section is ‘299 Corner’ which as the name implies will have everything at Rs 299 along with free home delivery and cash on delivery options.

Several websites, including Amazon, Snapdeal, FabFunish and FirstCry have geared up for the GOSF sale. Coupon Dunia has already listed GOSF shopping coupons for different shopping websites, while DesiDime has created a special section for GOSF on its website, which lets users see all GOSF deals in one place.

According to a report in The Economic Times, the participating companies are laying a lot of stress on the logistics part of the festival. To that end, they are hiring supply-chain experts, increasing capacities and looking at customer trends in order to anticipate a demand and be prepared. Snapdeal and Jabong are partnering with multiple logistics firms to ensure that they are prepared to high volume deliveries post the GOSF sale.

If you are a Windows Phone user and wish to switch to a modern, affordable flagship smartphone that does it all, you can’t go too wrong with the Nokia Lumia 830. goods. Features such as S-Health and a feature rich 13MP camera also work in its favour. Although the GOSF price puts it at Rs 22,491, the eBay page is showing a listing has ended message with a price point of Rs 24,990 for the 64GB variant.

If you always wanted a 40-inch full HD TV but did not have the budget for it, this GOSF deal sounds quite tempting. Lenovo Thinkpad E431

Flipkart is offering 25 per cent off on the Lenovo ThinkPad E431 which is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor and comes with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT740M graphics. It runs Windows 8 and comes with 4GB DDR3 RAM along with 500GB of hard drive. The 14-inch display offers 1600×900 pixel resolution. Flipkart pricing at the moment is Rs 59,990 whereas the GOSF pricing puts it at Rs 49,890.
