The wait for GTA 6 is almost over, as Rockstar Games announced that players will get an extensive look at GTA 6 and that the first-ever showcase is set to release on Netflix on August 27.
Rockstar Games shared the exciting news with their followers on X, where they released a 30-second motion graphic teaser, highlighting Jason and Lucia with the new visuals. The post stated that the GTA 6 Extended Look will air on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET.
In addition, the teaser also featured a new musical arrangement for GTA 6, incorporating funky guitar riffs and synth melodies. Viewers got a brief glimpse of what to expect from the game’s soundtrack, and Rockstar Games even directed their followers to the special Netflix page, which contains the reveal playlist.
The Netflix listing offers a brief description of the presentation:
“Coming August 27: See an extended look at ‘Grand Theft Auto VI,’ the next evolution in the groundbreaking ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series.”
The timing of the reveal has drawn attention across the gaming community. News of the Netflix premiere surfaced only one day before Take-Two’s investor call, scheduled for August 7, 2026, adding another layer of anticipation surrounding Rockstar’s biggest project.
Players without a Net-flix subscription will not miss out entirely. In a quote reply beneath the original teaser, Rockstar Games confirmed that the GTA 6 Extended Look will appear on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website at 9 PM ET on August 27, exactly six hours after the Net-flix debut.
As a result, Net-flix members receive a six-hour head start before the presentation becomes available worldwide through Rockstar’s traditional platforms.
The phrase “extended look” has already sparked widespread discussion. Industry chatter circulating for months has suggested that Rockstar might skip Trailer 3 and instead present the first substantial gameplay showcase. This latest announcement lends weight to those reports, pointing toward a presentation focused on Leonida’s expansive setting, the storyline surrounding Jason and Lucia, and an extensive demonstration of gameplay systems rather than another cinematic trailer.
The reveal also marks unfamiliar territory for Rockstar Games. Never before has the studio launched a major Grand Theft Auto presentation through Netflix ahead of every other platform. The decision hints at a growing relationship between Rockstar and the streaming giant.
Given that Netflix already offers Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, GTA III, and Vice City through its gaming catalog, this partnership raises fresh speculation that additional GTA experiences could eventually find their way onto the service.
