Like spending time on Facebook? Don’t put that under ‘Interests’ on your CV say HR specialists

Hapless jobseekers are listing sleeping, watching TV and even browsing Facebook as interests on their CVs, according to a new UK poll.

Employers warn that applicants who make these mistakes on their CVs risk being laughed out of the job market and should spend their spare
time picking up more useful skills.

Researchers said that Britons have used their resumes to reel off a list of pointless pastimes.
According to a survey of 1,000 HR specialists, updating their Facebook profile topped the list for the worst interests listed on CVs, Yorkshire Evening Post reported.

This was followed by shopping and playing with pets in second and third.

Going out drinking with friends came in fourth, followed by sleeping and watching TV.
Eating, collecting random objects and texting were next, while being a Harry Potter fan was tenth worst interest to put on a CV.

The poll was carried out by the Army Reserve in the UK.
