Cricket 22 Launch on November 25, at Rs 3,999 in India

Cricket 22 has been announced, with a release date of November 25th and a price of Rs. 3,999 in India.

Pre-orders for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch are now available.

Cricket 22 will be the first cricket game to be released on next-generation consoles, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Big Ant Studios, located in Melbourne, unveiled Cricket 22: The Official Game of The Ashes on Thursday, the third installment in the series following 2019’s Cricket 19. Cricket 22 will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X on November 25, only a few weeks before the start of the Ashes. Cricket 22 for Nintendo Switch will be out in January 2022. Cricket 22 includes the Ashes, Big Bash T20, The Hundred, and the Caribbean Premier League in addition to the Ashes.

There’s no mention of India or other major cricketing nations, which shouldn’t be a problem considering how Big Ant Studios has dealt with such issues in the past. Cricket 19 will initially provide the option to download a variety of fan squads to replace the unlicensed teams, with Virat Kohli and his team replacing the randomly selected players.

Here’s what Big Ant Studios has promised for Cricket 22 in terms of gameplay additions. To improve the series, the creators worked with fan input.

  • New bowling and fielding controls will “fine-tune” what fans of Cricket 19 have come to expect.
  • Career mode with a storyline that puts you in command both on and off the field. You’ll have complete control over overtraining, injuries, press conferences, and other aspects of the game.
  • Michael Atherton, Ian Healy, Mel Jones, Alison Mitchell, and David Gower make up a new commentary team. According to Big Ant, Jones and Mitchell will lead the all-women commentary for the women’s game, which will receive the same attention as the men’s game.
  • Improved accessibility, including redesigned lessons for first-time cricket players.

Cricket 22 will also take full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series S/capabilities, X’s according to Big Ant. You should anticipate quicker load times, real-time raytracing, and a slew of aesthetic enhancements. Upgrades to the following generation will also be free. If you buy Cricket 22 on PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll also get a free copy of the PS5 or Xbox Series S/X edition.

“The number of cricket fans that have been asking us about our next-generation cricket plans has been overwhelming,” In a prepared statement, Big Ant CEO Ross Symons stated. “We’re incredibly excited by what we’re able to bring to the table with Cricket 22. This is our fifth cricket simulation title, and it really represents the cumulation of everything that we’ve learned on this ten-year (and counting) journey. We have the most passionate fans, and we can’t wait to get this into their hands.”

Pre-orders are reported to be available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store, however, we couldn’t find them at the time of writing. Pre-orders for the PS4, PS5, and Xbox versions are currently available in India through Game Loot, Games The Shop, and Prepaid Game Card.

If you are pre-order, you’ll gain access to Cricket 22 The Nets Challenge, which allows you to try out the game in nets and training games starting in mid-October. It’s similar to early access, but not quite.

Cricket 22, dubbed the “most detailed cricket simulation” by Big Ant, will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X on November 25. It will be released on Nintendo Switch in January 2022. In India, it costs Rs. 3,999, and across all platforms, it costs AUD 99.95 (about Rs. 5,450).
