Apple has rolled out the iOS 26.7 update alongside the stable iOS 27 release, giving iPhone owners another path if they would rather postpone the jump to the newer operating system. While iOS 27 arrives with refreshed features and a Siri AI rollout, iOS 26.7 takes a much quieter approach.
The new build succeeds iOS 26.6.2 and concentrates on security hardening, system reliability, and behind-the-scenes adjustments. The Update has no headline-grabbing features, but Apple packed it with security patches designed to address a sizeable batch of vulnerabilities affecting compatible iPhones.

iOS 26.7 Update for iPhones: What Has Changed?
Apple’s official release note for iOS 26.7 is succinct: “This update provides security fixes for your iPhone.”
That description gives away the nature of the release. Like iOS 26.6.2, this version focuses on shoring up the operating system rather than introducing new tools or visual changes. Despite its modest feature set, however, the Update weighs in at 12.41 GB, making it a fairly substantial download.
The timing also gives iPhone users some breathing room. Apple generally leaves a transition period before pushing a newly launched major iOS version as the obvious upgrade choice. For users not ready to move to iOS 27 yet, iOS 26.7 lets them stay on the older branch while still receiving important security maintenance.
Apple says iOS 26.7 addresses more than 80 vulnerabilities, with 75 of those fixes also shared with iOS 26.6 and iOS 27. Several patches address the kernel, the operating system’s core layer. One vulnerability could potentially allow a malicious application to obtain root access. Another could permit remote code execution through Bluetooth.
The security acknowledgments also include contributions from Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI Codex Security, with three fixes credited to researchers associated with the two systems.
For now, iOS 26.7 is rolling out to iPhone 11 and newer models. If your iPhone is eligible and you want to stay on iOS 26 for now, installing the Update is straightforward.
Open Settings > General > Software Update, then tap Update Now when iOS 26.7 appears.
