The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is a good option if you’re ready to stretch the budget a little over Rs 5,000. At Rs 5,999, the Xpress 2 is among the most affordable octa-core smartphone. It sports a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and houses the MediaTek MT6592M SoC with a 1.4GHz octa-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM.The phone comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. You will get 16GB onboard storage space along with an option to expand it to 32GB via a microSD card. On the camera front, you get a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. YU Yureka Plus will be powered by a 2,500mAh battery.

Looks like, the new entrant Meizu has cracked the value for money proposition with the m2 Note. In our review, we found that the m2 note gives a decent performance and competes with the likes of Yu Yureka Plus. The Meizu m2 note performed well on most counts and there were few areas where we found anything lacking as such in the phone. It also delivers a good battery life and decent camera performance.

For those with about Rs 10,000 and a seasoned OEM, the Lenovo K3 Note is yet another option. The specs are almost similar to the m2 note. It’s a 4G device sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels and running Android 5.0 Lollipop with a layer of its own Vibe UI. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6572 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the camera front, the K3 Note comes with a 13-megapixel rear snapper with dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The 16GB onboard storage is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. A 3000mAh battery completes the package.

Knowing Xiaomi, we can expect the company to retain the price. With the Mi 4i, Xiaomi is offering you a phone that has premium specs, a great display, good camera, good battery life at an affordable price point, we had said in our review. Now, the new price drop makes it even more lucrative option in the sub-10k category. The device can be easily used single-handedly and the camera is one of the best in this price segment.
