When it comes to the new HTC One M8, the smartphone has seen too many leaks. From comprehensive hands-on videos to complete specs of the device along with sales guide that explains the key features of the new device, it hasn’t been an easy time for HTC to plug the leaks.
The latest leak is in the form of long 14-minute video which shows a detailed hands-on with the new smartphone. The video is in German though, and unless you speak German the only things you might understand are HTC One, Snapdragon and Qualcomm. Check out the original video below:

From what we can understand, the HTC One (2014) will feature a 5-inch 1080p display. The device’s dimensions are 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm. Under the hood, it comes powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The smartphone will come equipped with a nano SIM. On the storage front, expect 16GB of onboard storage and a micro SD card slot, which can take in cards up to 128GB in capacity, like the ones announced at MWC 2014. The All New HTC One will be fuelled by a 2,600 mAh battery.
One of the key features of the HTC One will be the dual cameras on the back. The primary or the lower camera on the back has a 4.1-megapixel sensor with large pixel size of 2µm, resulting in the HTC Ultrapixel camera. The dual cameras will allow users to refocus an image after it has been taken to either put the focus on the background or foreground. The rest of the camera features appear to be same including 1/3.0-inch size, f/2.0 aperture. The video capture is said to be 1080p, and not not 4K. One can also expect a 5MP front-facing camera. Users will get live effects and filters inside the native camera app.
The second camera on the back – the one on top – measures the distance between various points, which can allow you to shift focus after you have clicked the image, just as you can on Nokia Lumia cameras with the Retouch app. Because the second camera notes the distance between objects, you can also get a cool parallax effect as seen in 3D pictures, but it must be noted that this is not a 3D camera.
HTC has also added some new accessibility features such as auto-answer for incoming calls.  HTC’s signature BoomSound speakers will also make a reappearance. In addition, the phone will run the latest version of Sense, on top of Android 4.4.2, with on-screen buttons. The display can be turned on by double tapping as on the LG G2, Additionally, a swipe up from the bottom also turns the display on. Other accessibility featyres include, swiping from left to right when the screen is off to bring up the home screen and right to left to bring up Blinkfeed. Blinkfeed has been given additional support from third-party apps such as Facebook, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and so on. Fitbit is a new addition as well.
The new One has a dedicated Extreme Power Saving mode, which supposedly keeps the phone alive for up to 15 hours with just 5 percent battery left. This is similar to the feature in the Samsung Galaxy S5, which can supposedly stay alive for 24 hours with 10 percent charge. The Extreme Power Saving mode keeps apps such as the Phone, News, Mail, Calendar and Calculator on and displays them in a minimal interface.
The HTC One will be unveiled and possibly also launched tomorrow, so we will get an official confirmation of all the specs soon. Stay tuned for the Tech2 coverage of the HTC event.
