The wait for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 now has an official end date. Netflix will release the second season worldwide on October 20, 2026. CD Projekt Red and Studio TRIGGER confirmed the premiere during Netflix’s Anime NYC Stage Event, accompanied by a fresh trailer packed with fleeting looks at the brutal chapter ahead.
The new footage carries an ominous message: “The lines between redemption and revenge will blur.” The teaser offers only scattered fragments of the upcoming story. Yet, each glimpse hints at another descent into Night City’s merciless underworld.
Fans hoping to see David and Lucy return will face disappointment. Both characters from Edgerunners Season 1 have reached the end of their respective stories, so neither will headline the new season.
Their presence has still resurfaced through recent collaborations with Apex Legends and Wuthering Waves, giving longtime fans another chance to reconnect with the pair.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 instead introduces an entirely new ensemble. Weak Kingsley, D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang will take center stage as the next group of troubled figures wandering through Night City’s neon-soaked streets.
The latest teaser also reveals fragments of the mayhem awaiting the characters. The footage closes on a grim declaration: “Night City will burn again.” One particularly curious shot features a new Relic, echoing the technology tied to the Relic seen in CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
Studio TRIGGER sums up the premise with a pointed question: “A washed-up edgerunner & a killer netrunner in Night City… what could go wrong?”
Weak and D sit at the heart of the new narrative. Weak is a former cyberpunk legend whose reputation has faded into obscurity. Now stripped of chrome, he struggles to find direction after the city has moved beyond him.
D follows a far darker road. A deadly nomad driven by revenge, D begins pulling at threads connected to corporate secrets. His pursuit brings him dangerously close to information powerful corporations would rather keep buried.
Roman Carax joins the pair as a young cinephile obsessed with recording the lives unfolding around him. Talia Yang brings another volatile presence to the group as a fiercely violent corpo.
Studio TRIGGER describes the new season with the following official synopsis:
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 pulls you back into Night City, where lives become entangled to the extreme. Weak, a washed-up cyberpunk legend, is now forced to live without chrome as he searches for a sense of purpose in a world that’s passed him by. Meanwhile, the deadly nomad D sets out on a path to revenge that brings him close to corpo secrets never meant to be found.”
Production on Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 began roughly a year ago. Like its predecessor, the sequel will skip the conventional weekly rollout.
Netflix will release all 10 episodes simultaneously on October 20, 2026. Viewers therefore won’t need to wait several weeks to see how Weak, D, Roman, and Talia’s story unfolds.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners left behind a strong legacy after its first season, and the sequel now has the difficult task of establishing its own identity without David and Lucy.
