Apple Launched Next-Generation CarPlay at WWDC 2022

Apple announced a new CarPlay experience for autos at WWDC 2022. More controls, multiple-screen functionality, widget support, and other features are included in the update. These new enhancements imagine what Apple may do in terms of software, which is especially intriguing given the long-rumoured Apple Car. Here’s what to anticipate from the latest CarPlay update.

Apple CarPlay Has Been Redesigned With New Features

Apple has prioritized deeper CarPlay integration with car hardware. CarPlay will allow several displays within the vehicle in the future to provide a cohesive experience. Furthermore, you may control the radio or the climate directly from CarPlay.

According to Apple, CarPlay will now display vital information like speed, fuel level, temperature, and more on the instrument cluster. This is a useful feature for folks who prefer to keep track of details without having to leave CarPlay.

Apple will allow customers to customize the gauge cluster designs to further personalize the experience. Widgets to check the weather and music data from the dashboard are also supported.

Apple claims that the next-generation CarPlay will be available in new automobiles late next year. Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Nissan, Ford, Lincoln, Audi, Jaguar, Acura, Volvo, Honda, Renault, Infiniti, and Polestar have all confirmed that the new CarPlay experience will be available.

Apple said it will reveal additional details regarding the next-generation CPlay in the future. In addition, the business says that 98% of new vehicles have CarPlay support, and 79% of car customers in the United States choose automobiles with CarPlay.
