Vivo OriginOS 7 Rollout Timeline Revealed: Is Your Phone Eligible?

Vivo has revealed its OriginOS 7 rollout timeline for India, giving users a clearer idea of when the Android 17-based update should reach their phones. The rollout will happen in stages, starting with selected flagship models at the end of October 2026 and expanding to more Vivo smartphones through February 2027.

The update will first target the latest X series devices. Older X series phones will follow in November, while several V, S, T and Y series models will join the rollout over the next three months.

So, if you check your phone every morning and wonder why Android 17 hasn’t arrived yet, the answer is simple: Vivo is taking the slow-and-steady route.

OriginOS 7 India Rollout Timeline

The first OriginOS 7 update window in India is scheduled for late October 2026. Vivo will start with its newest premium phones, including the X Fold 5 and X300 series.

The second phase is planned for mid-November and will cover selected X200 series devices. More X series flagships and V series phones will follow in December.

By January and February 2027, the rollout expands to a wider mix of V, S, T and Y series smartphones. The final listed batch is scheduled for the end of February 2027.

Here is the current India rollout schedule:

The rollout list is based on the India schedule reported in Vivo’s announcement. The key detail is that these are rollout windows, not a promise that every phone in a batch will receive the update on the same day.

When Will Your Vivo Phone Get OriginOS 7?

If you own a Vivo X300 series phone or the X Fold 5, you are in the first group. Vivo expects those devices to receive OriginOS 7 by the end of October 2026.

X200 series owners have a little longer to wait. Their rollout window starts in mid-November.

The December phases are split between older flagship models and newer V series phones. That includes the X Fold 3 Pro, X100 series, V70 family and V60 series.

V50 and V50e owners are scheduled for the end of December, which puts the update just before the new year.

January is a much bigger batch. Vivo plans to push OriginOS 7 to selected V40, S2, T5, T4, T3 Ultra and Y51 Pro models.

The final scheduled group includes the V40e, V30 series, Y400 series, Y31 Pro and T4x, with rollout planned for the end of February 2027.

Why Is the OriginOS 7 Rollout Staggered?

Large software updates rarely reach every supported phone at once. Vivo is using a phased rollout, which gives the company more control over how it distributes the update across different models.

A staged release also means an update can arrive on different days for different users, even when their phones are listed in the same rollout window.

That matters because a schedule saying “end of October” does not mean every X300 owner should expect a notification at 12:01 a.m. on October 31. Phones do not work with that level of dramatic precision.

For now, Vivo has published rollout windows rather than exact dates for each model.

What Does OriginOS 7 Bring?

OriginOS 7 is based on Android 17 and brings changes to the interface, animations, multitasking, AI tools and cross-device functions.

One of the biggest visual changes is Vivo’s new design approach. The company highlights Fluid Motion and Spring Animation for smoother movement across the system. UI elements can react to gestures with more natural motion instead of simply jumping from one state to another.

OriginOS 7 also introduces Dynamic Glow and an updated home-screen design. Vivo has added new visual effects and more ways to change the interface’s look.

For people who actually use their phones for work, Origin Workbench is another major addition. It supports multiple windows, making it easier to switch between tasks without constantly closing and reopening apps.

AI Features Are a Bigger Part of OriginOS 7

Vivo is putting more AI tools directly into OriginOS 7.

The software includes AI functions for recording, calls, notes and search. OriginOS 7 can separate speakers in recordings, create highlights, generate summaries and provide AI-based insights from conversations.

The new AI Search feature can search across supported areas such as File Manager and Origin Notes using natural-language descriptions. That means you can describe what you remember about a file instead of trying to recall its exact name.

Smart Call Assistant adds features such as AI call answering and call overviews. OriginOS 7 can turn supported calls into text and provide a summary afterwards.

Vivo is also adding Snap & Go, which can recognise information from screenshots, such as travel details and suggest adding it to Google Calendar.

These features sound impressive on paper, but availability can vary by phone, region and supported services. So it is better to treat them as OriginOS 7 capabilities rather than assume every feature will work on every Vivo model.

Android 17 Security Changes

Because OriginOS 7 is built on Android 17, supported Vivo phones can also benefit from Android’s newer security features.

Google says Android 17 adds stronger protection against device theft, including stricter authentication controls and longer delays after repeated failed PIN or password attempts. Google has also expanded theft-protection features, such as biometric requirements when a device is marked as lost.

Android 17 also adds further privacy and security controls. Google documents new protections such as Advanced Protection Mode, which can restrict risky actions such as installing apps from unknown sources when the feature is enabled.

However, Android features do not always arrive in the same form on every manufacturer’s software. Vivo can add, change or limit features within OriginOS 7 depending on the phone and market.

Could OriginOS 7 Be the Final Major Update for Some Vivo Phones?

For some older devices on this list, OriginOS 7 could be one of their final major Android or OriginOS upgrades.

Treat that conclusion as an estimate, though. Vivo’s current public rollout announcement tells us which phones are scheduled to receive OriginOS 7. Still, it does not state that OriginOS 7 is officially the final major update for each older model.

Vivo’s newer phones also have different software-support commitments. For example, the company’s India pages for the X300 and X300 Pro advertise five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, while some V series devices advertise three major OS updates with five years of security support.

That difference is important. A major Android update and a security update are two separate things.

So, even when a phone stops receiving major Android version upgrades, it may continue to receive security patches for some time.

What Happens After the Rollout Reaches Your Phone?

Once Vivo starts the update for your model, the software may still arrive gradually.

You may see the update earlier or later than another owner of the same phone. That does not automatically mean your device has been skipped.

The safest option is to check for updates through your phone’s software update settings and install them when they become available for your device.

It is also worth keeping enough free storage before installing a major system update. Nobody wants to see a giant software package arrive only to discover that the phone has 97 photos of the same sunset taking up the last few gigabytes.

Is Your Vivo Phone Eligible for OriginOS 7?

The answer depends on the exact model.

The currently listed India rollout covers selected devices from the X, V, S, T and Y series. This includes phones such as the X300, X300 Pro, X300 Ultra, X Fold 5, X200 series, V70, V60, V50, V40, V30, selected T series models and several Y series phones.

Some Vivo models that many users may expect to see are not included in this published India list. You should check the exact model name instead of assuming every phone in the same family will receive the update.

The difference between a phone being “eligible” and a phone being scheduled for a particular rollout phase also matters. An eligible phone can still receive the software later than the first models in the rollout.

When Will Vivo Announce Exact OriginOS 7 Dates?

Vivo has currently provided rollout windows for India rather than exact installation dates for every individual model.

The first major window begins at the end of October 2026. More detailed timing should become clearer as Vivo starts pushing the update to the first batch of devices.

Until then, the safest way to read the schedule is simple: treat October through February as the planned rollout period, not as a fixed delivery date for every user.

Final Take

The OriginOS 7 India rollout is set to begin at the end of October 2026 and continue through the end of February 2027.

The X Fold 5 and X300 series are first in line, followed by selected X200 models, more flagship and V series devices, and then a larger group of V, S, T and Y series smartphones.

OriginOS 7 also brings more than a cosmetic refresh. Vivo is adding new animations, multitasking tools, AI features and cross-device functions. At the same time, Android 17 provides additional security and privacy changes.

For Vivo users, the key question now is not whether OriginOS 7 is coming. It is when your particular model will get the notification.

For phones in the last batch, remember February 2027.
